Import Companies into F6S Pipeline CRM

Modified on Mon, 4 Sep, 2023 at 4:50 PM

You can import companies into F6S Pipeline CRM. Pipeline Import allows you to add up to 5,000 companies in each import.

Step 1: Prepare your import file

  • Download the Import template file to get started.
  • Paste your company data and row headers in Row 1. Row headers are not required, but will help you mapping your columns.
  • Don’t include any table titles.
  • Your import file can have up to 5,000 rows and up to 40 columns.
  • It’s not required, but is always a great idea for your import file to include both a column with company names and a column with company URLs to increase matching accuracy.
  • Remove any duplicate rows before starting import.
  • Make sure every column shows only one type of data. For example, the Website URL Column should only have URLs.
  • The import file should only have one sheet.
  • Save your file as .xls, .xslx or .csv. If you save your file as .csv, make sure to use commas as the delimiter.
  • The import file should be smaller than 10mb. If your file is larger than 10mb, remove rows to reduce the size.

Step 2: Start your import

  • Make sure your import file is prepared correctly as described in Step 1 above
  • Go to your Pipeline web page
  • Click the Import Companies button on the top right corner of the screen
  • Click upload a file
  • Select your import file and click Open
  • Click Next

Note: If you don’t see the import option in your F6S Pipeline, please ask your Organization Admin to add import to the permissions of what you can do in Pipeline.

Step 3: Map columns

The map columns step matches columns from your import file to the columns you have in F6S Pipeline CRM.

  • Use the blue side of the interface to map the file columns:
    • The left side shows the names of the file columns.
    • The right side shows the F6S Pipeline columns where the data will be imported to.
  • Click Choose Column to map every file column you want to import. You can do one of the following:
    • Choose an existing column from the dropdown menu
    • Click Create New Column to create a new column in your F6S Pipeline CRM
    • Choose Don’t Import Column to avoid importing this column from your file.
  • Make sure to map file columns to the “Company Name” and the “Company Website” Standard F6S Columns.
  • You can exclude any file column in your import file that you don’t want in your F6S Pipeline.
  • You can check the Import Preview to see the information you’re importing.
  • Click Next when you’ve mapped all the columns in your file or opted to not import the data from un-mapped file columns.

Step 4: Match imported companies

The match companies step matches companies from your import file to companies that already exist on F6S or in your F6S Pipeline.

Matching companies is important to prevent creating duplicates in your Pipeline CRM and getting enhanced information from F6S. For example, F6S may enhance data points for some companies in your import file.

  • You should always try to match the companies in your import file to existing companies in your F6S Pipeline CRM and on F6S.
  • The F6S Pipeline CRM Importer automatically tries to match the companies from your import file to the companies on F6S.
  • The To Review page will show you all the companies that are possible matches. You can do one of the following:
    • Click Match on the right of the correct suggestion to match the company
    • Click Add Without Matching if the suggestions don’t match with the company if your file
    • Click Discard if you don’t want to import the company
  • You can review and update the matches at any time in the Done and Discarded pages
  • Click Next when you’ve matched or discarded every pending match

Step 5: Review and start import

After matching companies, you’re ready to finalize the import.

  • Click Choose Pipeline
  • Choose an existing Pipeline or create a new one
  • Review the import preview and click Start Import when ready
  • You’ll receive an email with a link to your companies when the import is complete
